Step 1 Tape or Glue the papers together First, tape the corners of the brown paper together. You will place the tape on the corner of the paper. Place the other piece of brown paper onto the piece with the tape and press them together so now you have 2 pieces of paper together. You can now place them aside. Take your 4 sheets of orange construction paper and separate it so you have 2 sheets together each. Place tape on one piece of paper and then place another piece of orange paper together so you have 2 pieces together. Then put it aside and do that to the other 2 pieces. Then you will connect the 2 pieces together in the middle so that you have one thick piece of construction paper out of the 4. It is very important that you don't cover the page with tape. Small pieces of tape does the job, otherwise the tape will come off. Same with glue but for a different reason that will be explained shortly.

Step 2 Cut out your stencil that you printed off from here: www.perMINent.net/pumpkinstencil.jpgStep 3 Place the big piece of the stencil over the orange sheet, so the middle of the pumpkin covers the tape and the ends hang over it. Trace the pumpkin with the pen. You want to trace it on the side you will NOT draw on. Do NOT trace the lines into the pumpkin yet. Now place the smaller piece of the stencil on the brown piece, so that it covers the tape again. Trace the stencil. Step 4 Now you can cut out your pieces. After cutting them out, flip them both over and you have the bases for your pumpkin that you will draw on. Side note: On the pumpkin, you can now tape the corners together of the first 2 pieces you taped together and the second 2 pieces you taped together. Leave the middle open, its very important that this is not taped up yet!

Step 5 Place the pumpkin stencil with the lines over the orange pumpkin. Take your pen and go over each line on the pumpkin by pressing down. This leaves an imprint on the pumpkin to guide you along when you make the lines for your pumpkin. Step 6 First, using your sharpie, outline the pumpkin. I recommend putting a piece of paper under it so you don't have to worry about making a mess. Then go over the lines that you pressed into the pumpkin with the sharpie. Remember to make them thick so Sungmin will be able to see them clearly! Then draw 2 little lines on the brown piece as pictured here. This gives it depth so its not just a plain piece of brown paper.

Step 7 Attach the brown piece to the orange piece. Place a small piece of tape or glue on the edge of the brown piece. Now press it onto the top of the pumpkin. Now your stem is connected to your pumpkin! Step 8 Place tape or glue on both sides of the popsicle stick only at the top. Open up the middle of your pumpkin. Place the stick, with enough inside to hold the pumpkin up, inside the pumpkin middle. Press the paper tightly to the stick. Step 9 Shake your pumpkin around! Does it stay on the stick? Great, then your done! Step 10 Feel free to decorate the back of your pumpkin however you want! You can use sharpie, markers, glitter, stickers etc, just nothing to make it weigh too much more.
